Show To Vote you must register Political activity is beginning to liven up as the general election draws closer. The election date is less than a month away. For many people, being involved in-volved in the election campaign is traditional. Unfortunately, , for others, not even bothering to vote is also traditional. There are perhaps a few who would go to the polls if they had made proper preparations, namely begin registered. No one can vote if they are not registered. Persons who voted in the last general election are automatically registered for the November election. Should there be a question in your mind the fact that you not have voted in the primary election does not nullify your eligibility to vote in the. general election. For anyone who has moved to a new district, or who has not voted in the last general election, there are four more chances to get registered. Registration days with the various agents throughout the county will be October .14, and October 17. Persons,-may register between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Anyone not aware of his registration agent may contact the county clerk's office -- the toll free number from Cedar City is 580-9974. Voters who do not register with an agent may register any day, through October 27 at the County Clerk's Office in Parowan or at the Iron County Sheriff's Office in Cedar City any week day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. It is surprising the number of persons who are not aware of the fact that their registration must be current, and who go to vote on election day only to discover they are not registered. Anyone with any question should contact the county clerk's office or, registration agent, and make .sure they are eligible to vote. A list of the registration agents is available at the Clerk's Office and a list is also available here at the Record. Just as important is to cast that ballot in the election. |
