Joyce Frisbrey discussed legislation and stressed individual development. She urged members to support the objectives of the club to promote qualified women candidates for public office, and to support day care centers and nursing homes. Janet Busch discussed the individual development program further. Members of the state federation who attended were Mary Blundell, State President; Peggy Ranson, President-Elect; Joyce Lunger, Vice President; Greta Bauer, past president; Joyce Frisbrey, Legislation Chairman; Kathryn Putnam, Membership Mem-bership Chairman; Janet Busch, Co-ordinator; and Ruth Miner, Finance Chairman. Musical entertainment was provided by members of the Cedar City High School Fiddlers. The fall conference of the southern district of the Business and professional Women's Clubs was held Sat., Oct. 7 aat the Town and Country Restaurant. Local women Karla Hulet of Cedar City and Nettie Pickett of St. George were chosen as representatives to attend the kick-off for National Business Women's Week in Salt Lake City on Oct. 14 at the Hilton Hotel. Governor Matheson will be present and will sign a proclamation designating Oct. 15 through 21 as the special week in Utah. The luncheon was presided over by District Director, Ella Van Groningen, and attended by 50 members who represented clubs in Milford, Panguitch, Richfield, Rich-field, St. George, Zion, and Cedar City. Kathryn Putnam, Put-nam, State Membership Chairman, awarded 50 dollars each to two clubs in the southern district, Milford and Panguitch, for |
