Show Utah 4-H'er Wins Trip To Chicago I Dixie Olion, 19, ot Paradise, Is i among 24 4 11 Club members In J the Nation to attend the National 4-H Club Congress In Chicago, 8i s Sectional winner in the 4-11 Achievement program. This award, one of the highest honors a 4-H Club member can obtain, Is provided by the Ford Motor Company. Her selection as a sectional winner In the program was based on project accomplishment as well as club and community achievements. Dixie was a National 4-H Food Preparation winner In 1952 and won a $300 Scholarship. During her 4-H Club career she prepared and baked 766 foods and 1,028 meals, froze 1,806 pounds of meat and fowl, and raised 792 turkeys. She was the subject of a feature fea-ture story in the magazine, Farm Journal. During her nine years of club work she completed 21 projects, proj-ects, gave 22 demonstrations, won a recreation scholarship valued at $37.50 and numerous other awards. In 19.13 the OUon family was host to Miss Berlt Barge, an I.F.Y.E. student from Finland. Achievement awards also include in-clude twelve $300 scholarships for national winners chosen from among the sectional winners. As state winner, Dixie received a set of two miniature statues, nder the direction ot the Coopera- |
