Show JUNIOR HI - LITES by By CYNTHIA WILLIAMS HI Friends! Well, activities are in fu.ll swing again at the Junior High after the Thanksgiving holidays. Students are buckling down to their studies, but not for Jong, because the Christmas holidays will be coming up soon. Then too, another reason for this "settling "set-tling down" is because of the Parent-Teacher conferences coming com-ing up this week. The student body will see movies Friday afternoon af-ternoon while the parents come and receive their report cards and look over our records. The students stu-dents will hear the results or the "bad word" later. On returning to the Junior High after the holidays, students were greeted by a great Improvement Improve-ment In the building construction. construc-tion. The passageway that connects con-nects the lower hall of the Junior Jun-ior High with the south portion of the elementary building that the Junior High has been using, was opened up. This is not completed, com-pleted, but it provides an enclosed en-closed hallway so that students will not have to walk in the mud, and through snow and sleet to get to their classrooms. ft While the Junior High student body has had the privilege of attending at-tending the outstanding Music Arts presentations, and at a reduced re-duced rate at that, many students have not come to the realization that they should put on their best manners and give such experienced ex-perienced performers' their best best attention. Some students are putting their feet on the backs of the seats and are twisting and wiggling around, making considerable consid-erable noise and disurbing the people around them. Many of thi students come to visit with their friends while others walk up and down the ramps. The faculty urges more parents to sit up in the balcony with their teen-age sons and daughters to help prevent pre-vent this disturbance. . The Junior High is sponsoring an exchange assembly. "Friday morning those who are taking part in it will travel to St. George to present the assembly to the Woodward Junior High. Later In the year they will bring an assembly assem-bly to us. We feel that this is a good idea because in the past the school has had to pay considerable consider-able money to bring In programs and this way we see talent that Is just as good and It also gives students an opportunity to develop devel-op their talents. a The Junior High Girls' Day Dance was held November 23rd In the Third Ward recreation hall. It was girl's choice throughout through-out the evening and the dance was very successful. We would like to thank Bishop Lanoir Jones and Bishop Austin Hey-wood Hey-wood for making it possible for use to hcvd the dance In the recreation re-creation hall. And, on behalf of the student body and faculty I would also like to thank the Hey-wood Hey-wood orchestra for furnishing the pmusic. |
