Show Two Cedar Redmen Selected For fill-Star B Team The Salt Lake Tribune sports staff which annually picks an all-star team from the ranks of the Class B football stars published pub-lished a list of the 1955 selections in the Sunday edition. Two Cedar City High School Redmert, who have shown remarkably re-markably well this season were selected to the all-star team this year. Goldon Slack, end, was chosen cho-sen on both the Tribune and the Deseret News selections, and Gayle Simkins, a guard, were chosen to the Tribune all-star selections. se-lections. ' ' Only 11 men were picked by the Tribune and it is fine credit to the school and to Coach Glen Jackson in addition to the two boys, to place two men on the team. Moving to the semi-final bracket brac-ket this season, as they have for the past three years, the Redmen had a well-knit squad. Two men or four men cannot pjay the game by themselves; it takes the support of the whole team, the play of the whole team and the fight of the whole team to go as far as they did. These men, selected se-lected for their outstanding play must be commended for their part, truly outstanding, not only abllfy-wise, but team wise as well. I |
