Show Cedar CitvOked JisKiwanis Convention Site Notification was given the Cedar Ce-dar City Klwanls Club at the Utah-Idaho District Training School held Friday through Sunday Sun-day at Ogden, that Cedar City has been selected as the site for the 1956 U-I District Convention. Frank Milne, president-elect for 1956, was notified at the training train-ing school that the application submitted at the 1955 convention at Idaho Falls was accepted by the district officers. According to the annual plans the convention is held in connection con-nection with the Labor Day holiday holi-day and advance plans call for a three-day confab beginning on Sept. 1 and running through Sept. 3, Labor Day, of 1956. Attending the training school, unique in service clubs, was Milne plus Rex Harris, who has accepted the position of secretary for another year, his second; Burns Shcrratt, vice president; El-don El-don Yergensen, a director, and Clayton Petty, lieutenant governor govern-or of the Key Club, a service group sponsored In the high school. Milne indicated that plans have now been set up to hold the local training school Monday evening, Dec. 12. At the meeting will be new officers, plus committee com-mittee chairmen who will serve under his administration. Installation of the newly elected elect-ed officers of the local club will be held Tuesday evening, Dec. 13, Milne indicated at which time the wives of the members wi,'l be In attendance. The Installation will be conducted con-ducted by Lieutenant Governor Thorit Hatch of Helper. |
