Show BPW Club Members Presented Legislative Program A program, presented by the legislative committee of the Business Bus-iness and Professional Women's Club, Wednesday evening, Nov. 23, proved highly interesting and educationa.1. Heading the committee in charge of the program was Gwen Beal, city councilwoman. She was assisted by a committee composed com-posed of Louise Corry, Pauline Nelson and Alice Haycock. Thelma Glass, Cedar City treasurer, read and explained a tentative budget of the city for 1956 to highlight the evening's program. Following the presentation presenta-tion a lively question and answer ans-wer discussed was led by Mrs. Glass. Club members asked many pertinent questions about the levying of taxes and other interesting inter-esting questions. Mamie Eck told the group that exactly 21 years ago, Nov. 23, 1934, the local BPW Club was formed. Lillian Lunt suggested that the club take bloodtyping as a project pro-ject and have every member respond re-spond to such a typing. The suggestion sug-gestion will be taken under advisement, ad-visement, it is understood. Mrs. Beal, in charge of the program, pro-gram, suggested that members write their congressman regarding regard-ing questions' of legislation perti-nent perti-nent to our nation, state and communities. - Announcement was ilso made at the meeting of the Christmas party to be held by the B P W on Dec. 14. |
