Show UNDER PTA PLAN Juvenile Area Chairman Heads Program As a result of a recent .planning .plan-ning meeting called by P T A Council Juvenile Protection chairman, chair-man, Mrs. Henry P. Dotson, local groups are being asked to spearhead spear-head an action program for Juve-nile Juve-nile protection. This is the first year this comittee has been included in P.T.A. activities, but owing to the tremendous surge of interest, nationally and locally, in juvenile delinquency and its related problems this committee was formulated on a natlonaj basis. Letters are being sent to representatives rep-resentatives of churches, schools, civic clubs, professional groups, city officials, police, and fraternal frater-nal groups to acquaint them with this program and to establish working relationships for prompt action for the welfare of the city's juveniles. Mr. Arch M. Thurman, Chairman Chair-man of The Utah Congress of Parent and Teachers Juvenile Protection Committee, will be In Cedar City, Tuesday Dec. 6, to speak to this representative group on this important subject. The P.T.A. belives that the fol-' fol-' lowing goa-'s based on the ob-' ob-' jects of the organization must be reached if every child is to have an opportunity to live a full life, satisfying to himself and useful to his community; good homes, education opportunity, conservation conserva-tion of human values and natural nat-ural resources, vocational aqjust-ment, aqjust-ment, constructive leisure time activity, civic responsibility, active act-ive spiritual faith, and world out-,'ook. out-,'ook. Assisting Mrs. Dotson with this work will be the following Unit Chairmen: High School, Mrs. Ellen El-len BuUoch; Jr. High School, Antone Lambert; West Elementary, Element-ary, Mrs. Ralph Lamoreaux; East Elementary, Mrs. Brose Bulloch; North Elementary, Mrs. Charles C. Esp'in, Jr. The meeting time will be Tuesday, Tues-day, Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m. in the West Elementary Library. |
