Robert Faddis and Douglas Lunt, co-chairmen of the Jaycee Christmas Lighting committee, state that the. organization will give three prizes, $25.00 for first, $15.00 for second, and $7.50 for third. The committee asks that people peo-ple participate in home lighting whether or not they plan to compete com-pete for prizes, because extensive lighting adds so much to the spirit spi-rit of the season. However, they would appreciate it if each home owner who decorates would enter the contest, and urges evervone to fill in the entrance blank published pub-lished in this issue of the Iron County Record and mall it to the committee. Mr. Faddis and Mr. Lunt point out that size and extent of the lighting of the home will not be the determining factor, but rather rath-er that emphasis will be placed on originality and effectiveness. They also point out that the lighting arrangement may be on the home, in the yard, or a com-inatlon com-inatlon of both. Judging will be started on Monday, Dec. 19, so all lighting should be in place by that time. However, the committee urges earlier lighting wherever possible. possi-ble. The Jaycees hope that home lighting will begin to appear soon, that many homes will be lighted, and that each home ownner will enter the contest. They urge everyone to clip and mail the entry blank as soon as , possible. |
