Show KflMRMVILLE Hannah A. Davis Richard Olds, principal of our school, took his students to St. George for a swimming party on Friday. Some of the mothers took their cars and accompanied them. The mothers who went were Hazel Haz-el Davis, Lurene Loopes, Betty Williams and Lurene Gubler. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simkins of Cedar City were Sunday visitors vis-itors at the home of Mrs. Sim-kins Sim-kins parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Davis. Mrs. Zina Tollock of Salt Lake City spent a few days here with her sister, Lena Williams. She also visited with other relatives and friends. Mrs. Pollock is a former resident of Kanarravllle Word was received last week hy relatives of the death of Dee Itoundy of Provo. Dee had been In poor health for almost eight years. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Roundy, former residents. Several of our people attended the boxing bouts at Cedar City Saturday. Two of our young boys were on the card, Lester and Jlm-mie Jlm-mie Loopes. Kent, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Laron Christensen, is home from the Iron County hospital where he underwent surgery. A son was born at the Iron County hospital on May 19 to Mr. and Mrs. Dale Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Williams have returned homo from Boulder Boul-der City, Nev., where they visited visit-ed for a couple of weeks. They were accompanied by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sherald Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Teterson visited here and In New Harmony with relatives. Many parents attended the Junior high school graduation exercises at Cedar Citv. The students stu-dents from here was Tonya Ber-. Ber-. tv, Val Davis, Sharon Zohner, Ruil Williams, Russell Williams, Lester Loopes and Laureiic Williams. Wil-liams. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Trince and children of New Harmonv, and Mrs. Elda Fife and daughter visited vis-ited with their mother, Mrs. Hannah Han-nah A. Davis. Reginald Davis and Jerrv Isom v?ere home over the week end from Las Verms. Mrs. Vaughn Isom spent a few days in Hurricane caring for a Mrs. Campbell, who is ill. There is quite a lot of sickness here, owing to bad cases of flu and several cases of mumps. Our young people who received re-ceived their diplomas from the Seminary in Cedar City were: Dwight Williams, Allen Davis, Larry Reeves, Susie Leader, Marie Mar-ie Davis, Janine Williams and Marian Williams. Marlyn Lovell graduated from the L D S Institute in services held Sunday evening in Cedar City. Val Davis and Larry Reeves were unable to attend their graduation grad-uation exercises because of the mumps. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Batty and sons were visitors with their bro-ther bro-ther and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wlllard Battv Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Nello Williams and children, and Mary M. Williams, Wil-liams, Carma Williams and children, chil-dren, and Hannah Davis visited for a short time Sunday In New Harmony with relatives. George A. Berry and his son, Glade, attended the horse races at Kanab Saturday. |
