Show Statement Issued Concerning Driver Licenses 1 A number of questions have arisen recently regarding the j motor vehicle licensing program of the state of Utah and more , particularly the "granddaddy." j In view of these questions the i- Drivers' License Division of the State Department of Public Safe- I ty has Issued the following no- tlce: . j A law passed by the State f Legislature, effective on May 10 C of this year, provides that every - : person licensed in Utah, whether ! he hold a "Good Until Revoked v'vs; License" or one that requires .,, a renewal, must successfully pass T an eye. examination every five '; ."-j years. Failure to do so x ) automatically causes the license - J to be cancelled and It then be- j comes necessary to make appll- cation for a new license and sue- j cessfully pass established writ- ten, driving and eye tests. These eye examinations are given each Saturday between 9 and 12 a.m. at the Cedar City Firehouse, along with written and driving tests. Residents holding hold-ing these "granddaddy" licenses are encouraged to get their examinations ex-aminations now. In view of this new law, holders hold-ers of regular licenses will be unable to get them renewed by merely mailing In the stub within 90 days of the expiration date. |
