Show Iron County Teachers Launch In-Service Training An extensive 10-day workshop of in-service Gaining in elementary elemen-tary education opened at the West Elementary School in Cedar City this morniiiL with about 50 teacri-rs from the Iron County School systenr: participating. The group will continue to meet each day, except Sunday, through June 4, participating in discussions of intensive research conducted during the past two years under a Kellogg grant In the schools of Iron County. The research, conducted under the direction di-rection of Dr. Marie Hughes, professor pro-fessor of elementary education, University of Utah, has been aimed at improving the quality of classroom teaching in schools of the county. The remainder of the workshop work-shop studies will be guided by Dr. Hughes, Dr. Braithwalte, Ian-thus Ian-thus Wright, superintendent, Iron County schools, and Marq McMillan, Mc-Millan, consultant in elementary education. |
