Show Darlene May Wins Coveted CSU Womanhood Award - .r - i I v: . j V - DARLENE MAY The Mildred L. Sargent Womanhood Wo-manhood Award, given each year in honor of Mrs. D. L. Sargent to a student at the College of Southern South-ern Utah, went to Darlene May of Sutherland at the awards convocation con-vocation at the new library lounge Sunday. Presented by Prof. D. L. Sargent, Sar-gent, representing the family, it is the third award to be given. When the family originally donated do-nated the award In 1953, Mrs. Sargent was the recipient upon her graduation from the elementary elemen-tary education department of the college. In 1954 Helen Tuft of Monroe was the recipient. Selection of the recipient is by the family from nominations of the C S U faculty. Qualifications Qualifica-tions considered are: Strength of character, good student, modest leader, stability, loyalty, friendliness, friend-liness, ambition, sense of humor and unselfishness. Miss May will receive her associate as-sociate In science degree at the commencement services Friday evening. |
