Show Parowan Iligh School Students Honored with Awards At the annual awards assembly assem-bly held Wednesday, a large number of students of the Parowan Par-owan High School received certificates cer-tificates of award in recognition for outstanding work along various vari-ous lines of endeavor during the 1954-55 school year. Awards for student body officers offi-cers went to Larry King, president; presi-dent; Mary Etta Stubbs, vice pres president, and Victor Norman, Nor-man, secretary. King also received re-ceived an award in music, and Miss Stubbs an award in drama. Miss Linda Knight received an award for submitting the state prize winning essay in the American Amer-ican Legion Auxiliary contest, junior division. Douglas Mlckelson Mlckel-son received an award for perfect per-fect attendance at school during the year. Nelson Taylor received an award in student government and for being business manager of the yearbook. Hettle Anne J. Bentley received an award for being yearbook editor and De-lores De-lores Thornton for assistant yearbook year-book editor, Sylvia Decker for being art editor, and Delores Mor-tensen Mor-tensen for being photo editor of the annual. Athletic awards went to Donald Don-ald Stubbs, Eric Clark and Rodney Rod-ney Bentley. Jackie Ward received re-ceived an award for music, drama dra-ma and being editor of the high school newspaper, and Mary Susan Sus-an Benson for being assistant editor. F F A leadership award in agriculture ag-riculture went to Shirrl Lister, Roy Orton, Dean Robinson, Robin Lamoreeaux, Stuart Adams and James Talbot. Additional drama . awards went to Victor Norman, Lyman Munford, Joan Lamor-eaux Lamor-eaux and Sanford Topham, with the latter winning awards In music and scholarship also. |
