Show Summer Readina Club Enjoys Get-together The Summer Reading Club mot the last part of April at the home of Mrs. Frank Thorley, with President Pre-sident Cora Stucki as assistant hostess. Eleven members and seven visitors were present, among them three of Mrs. Thorley's aunts, Mrs. Voilet Urie, Mrs. Maude Matheson, Mrs. Rachael Black; a sister-in-law, Mrs. La-Vina La-Vina Jones, who was one of the original members of the Summer Reading Club; also her daugh- ter-in-law, June Thorley. Mrs. Ellen Atkin gave a very interesting account of the San Juan settlement, of early Indian scouting, the Hole-in-the-rock trek and other troubles of the settlement of that part of the state. A delicious plate luncheon was served after which the club adjourned ad-journed to meet again on June 3, when the summer meetings will begin and be held each Friday Fri-day at 3:00 p. m. at the homes of different members. |
