Christensen, 57, former resident of Vernal, werei last Wednesday at the Broadway LDS Chapel. Mr. Christensen died of natural causes at Bullfrog Landing Lake Powell, Ut. He was born Feb. 24, 1923 in Vernal where he was reared and educated. He graduated from Uintah High School in 1940 and attended Brigham Young University. He also attended Utah State University in Logan, Ut., just prior to entering the U.S. Marine Corps in March 1943, where he served in the South Pacific. He married Margie LaDell Schanno March 29, 1945 in Vernal. Ver-nal. He was released from the service in 1946 and returned to Utah State University where he graduated in 1949, and received a master's degree in civil engineering in 1950. He worked for the Morrison-Knudsen Co., Inc. until he was called into service during the Korean War and served until 1953. In 1961, he founded Western Construction Construc-tion Co., and was its president at the time of his death. Surviving are his wife of Boise ; a son, Stephen Wayne of Rexburg; a daughter, Peggy Ree of Logan; a brother, Grant of Boise; two sisters, Joanne Smith of Bountiful, Ut, and Janet Clark of Rigby; and six grandchildren. grand-children. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon, and by a son, Max. |
