Elder Blackham receives mission call to Bolivia VERNAL SPECIAL Members of the Floyd Allen family recently attended a missionary farewell for their grandson, Elder Wayne Blackham, at the Holladay Stake Center in Salt Lake ; City. Those who went from Vernal were Floyd and Birdie, Terry and Kathy Caldwell and their 4 children, Troy, Traci, Tyler and Trent ; Francis Emery and her 3 children, David, Clark, and Elisa. Elder Blackham is the son of J. LaMont and Linda A. Blackham, and ; has been called to the Bolivia-LaPaz -LDS mission. He has been attending the University of Utah this year, and has been an active member of the Institute Choir which recently returned from a concert tour to Canada. Dr. Paul Hanks, director of the choir who has also been a guest director of the Tabernacle Choir, gave the main address ad-dress at his farewell, and the choir sang four numbers. Afterwards a garden dinner was served to his many friends and relatives. Elder Blackham is now studying at the Missionary Training Center in Provo. |
