Council declares May 4-11 music appreciation week May 4, through May 11, has been declared Music Week by the Vernal City Ci-ty Council. According to Mayor Samuel Snyder the governor initiated the proclamation in Utah so people would show appreciation apprecia-tion of music during the week National Music Week has been celebrated nation-wide by the National Federation of Music Clubs since 1923. This year's 57th observance carries a theme of "Music, A Means of Understanding and Enrichment." The Utah Federation's president, Nellie Gutke, admonishes, "Whether you are professional, an amateur, or a listener, get involved to increase your own enjoyment and to bring enjoyment to others. Why not attend one or more musical events during this weok?"
