Show Hospital benefit Sunday Virginia Garner, tournament chairman, announced that an 18 hold "Hospital Benefit Scotch Foursome" is scheduled for Sunday, May 4. Proceeds from Jon Mauss and the Ladies & Men's Golf Association, will be donated to the hospital fund. Participants are asked to sign up by 12 noon, May 4, and tee off is at 1:30 p.m. Ladies and non-golfing spouses are'asked to bring a covered dish for pot luck dinner in the Shriner Picnic area, following the tourney. The Ladies Golf Association met April 22 with 35 ladies in attendance., Kathy Ingram, Jennifer Slutz, Bev Weber, and Phyllis Fry were introduced in-troduced as guests. Lucille Phillips, president commented com-mented on the past perfromance of Isla King, Vernal's first Ladies' Golf president, and presented her with a commemorative silver charm bearing the date of her presidency and the beginning of Ladies' Golf in 1951. Following the brief business meeting, Jon Mauss, Vernal pro, presented a film "The Golf Swing" and discussion was invited. Ladies Golf will officially "kick-off" Ladies Day, Wednesday, May 7, with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. Tee off !'is scheduled for 9 a.m.- with the play of the day "The Most 7's". |
