The next road race will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. Mangrum placed first in the meet held this past Saturday. Some of the other runners in the Dicture are: John Shimmin, Lin da Shimmin, Shanna Hadlock, Deena Millecam, Bonnie Jones, Parker Davies, Kathy Davies and Peggy Preece. Also competing in the race were Mike Perry, Earl "Louis" Kelly and Kent Millecam. Vernal runners va!:e i pari in rocid rciee Doug Mangrum pocketed first place j in a Canal Street Road Race held in Vernal, Saturday with a time' j 40:03. He aTso "had the best time in the 30-39 male age group. Shanna Hadlock had a second place time of 50; 17 in the 5 mile race. She also placed first in the 19-29 female age group and set a new female record. Kent Millecam garnered third place at 50:47 and he established a new j record in the 12 and under class. Deena Millecam gained fourth place at 50-51 and she set a new age group record in the 30-39 female class. Also placing in the race were: Mike Perry, fifth, 30-39 male? 51:35; Earl "Louis" Kelly, sixth, 30-39 male, 52:19; Peggy Preece, seventh, 19-29 female, 58:52; Linda Shimmin, 40-49 female, 59:40; John Shimmin, eighth, 50 and over, 59: 40 and Bonnie Jones, tenth, 30-39 30-39 female, 63:59. Linda Shimmin set a new 40-49 female age group record. Kathy Davies, 19-29 female and Parker Davies, 30-39 male, also completed in the race. Parker ran 9 miles. The next road race will be held Saturday, May 3 at 9 a.m. in Vernal at 2V2 North 10th West.
