Show Ballard Telintha Rasmussen ' Phone 722-4875 Ballard town bldg.nears completion The Ballard Town and County building is nearly completed. Sometime during the month of May the building will be dedicated. The Clarence Rich's new duplex' home just south of Ballard church will be ready to rent about the first of May. Millie Hatch, visited briefly at the Telintha Rasmussen home while here for two days from Las Vegas. She has spend the last year there. Her two daughters, Ramona and Jennie were with her. They returned to Las Vegas where Millie has a trip planned to fly to Mobile, Arkansas to see a grandfather. After the trip she will return to Roosevelt and spend the summer with her daughter, Pat Anderson. Visitors at the Bill and Mary Stevens home last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hamby from Salt Lake City. Delia Dahlberg has sold her home in Gusher to Mr. and Mrs. Francis and Lillian Hester from Anchorage, Alaska. Delia, at the present is living at her son Harry's home, until her new home on the White hocks road will be completed this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Whitmore have a new double wide Great Lakes trailer home moved in by the side of his parents, the B.Y. Whitmores. They are now moved into it. On August 8, Eddie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jr. Betts and Wendy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Davey and Ila Willden of Aurora, Utah will be married in the Manti temple. They will be making their home in Roosevelt. Wendy teaches school at the East Elementary in Roosevelt. Saturday April 26, Neita Ercanbrack and Ann Anderson gave a food storage shower for Wendy Willden at Ann's home. Special guests were Wendy's mother, Mrs. Ila Willden from Aurora and Mrs. Tim Willden from Salina, Utah. The time was spent playing games and refreshements were served. Many useful gifts were received. Mr. and Mrs. Max Tcdd and 5 children went to Orange, California for an open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Karen) Smith April 18. Dale and Karen were married in the Provo temple April 10. Dale's parents live in Orange, California. Bob and Linda Mendozc also went for the occasion. They live in Sandy. The Todds were gone nearly a week. Douglas McKinley and son Sean were here at the Earl Gardners home over the weekend visiting the Gardners and Doug's daughter, Nicole, who has been staying the past year with her grandparents. grand-parents. Doug lives in Richfield. Last Saturday was work day on North Ballard Ward's farm located on Indian Bench just west of the Earl Gardner home. They had a good turn out and many things were accomplished. The ground was plowed, fences mended and a new loading shoot build along with some new corrals. Ballard Ward has had several work days on their farm about Vi mile south of Ballard Church. They have built a new shed and corrals, put the olive trees along the ditch bank, mended fences and other things to improve the appearance of the farm. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Marett from Spring Glen, Utah were here over the weekend visiting at the Karl Shisler home, also Lenor Shisler was home over the weekend from BYU. This is Lenor's third year at BYU. Deloy and Ina Richens were here at their home over the weekend, then returned to Salt Lake City where Deloy is under his doctor's care. Mr. and Mrs. Verden Hcaton have a new grandchild, born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nielson of Roosevelt April 21 in the Duchesne County Hospital. He weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz. and was named Nathan Paul. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Nielson of Coalville. Great grandparent is Mrs. Virginia Anderson of Neola. Mr. and Mrs. David Lascrd and 2 children from Grand Junction, Colorado are here staying at their aunt's, Violet Butchers home, while David remodels the old Jess Butcher home one mile south of Ballard church, so Violet can move into it. Some of the remodeling will consist of putting in a bathroom, paneling the walls and reroofing the house. Mrs. Betty Thomas and four children from Hunter, Utah spent the weekend visiting at the Boyd Winn and Vicky Rasmussen home. Mrs. Thomas used to live here in Ballard Just across the rooci from the Boyd Winn home. |
