No announcement is mado as to Hall's plans, but it is generally believed that his resignation is merely preliminary to an appointment of even greater responsibility re-sponsibility than his present duties. Hall has been identified with the automobile industry practically ever since its inception, and his rise to the position he is now absolving affords an example of broad, conservative achievement. achieve-ment. The greater part of Hall's career has been spent in the service of Oldsmobile. Starting as a salesman for the Olds-mobile Olds-mobile distributor in Pittsburg, years ago, ho was appointed branch manager for the Olds Motor works in Cleveland, opened a new branch in Pittsburg and finally became branch manager for the company in Chicago. Hall is generally credited as lieing largely instrumental for the change which' in 1014 lifted the Olds Motor works from the Tanks of the small producer pro-ducer and placed the concern in the quantity production class. His record as an analyst of fundamental conditions condi-tions and an organizer is noteworthy. Tho fact that the Olds Motor works next vear will produce and market more than 20,000 cars, as compared with the limited output of the company when Hall joined the organization, is a self-cvideiit self-cvideiit tribute to his ability and business busi-ness acumen. |
