Preparations are under way to unwater un-water the 1100-foot level of the American Ameri-can Flag mine, located in the Park City district, according to the management. As soon as the 110O-f oot level has been unwatered and the main shaft put in working condition, it will be driven down to the 100-foot level and a campaign cam-paign of development work will be started. In unwatering the main shaft two large bailing buckets will be used and three shifts employed. The development work will be pushed ahead with a view of picking up the downward extension of the ore-bearing fissures and the limestone beds in which the ore is known to make. A bedding was exposed in the southern portion of the. 1100-foot level before the water : caused a suspension of the work. A drift will be driven from the 1200-foot level to explore this same .bedding. A number of winzes were sunk on the ore showing on the 1100-foot level, and it was going down strong before work ; was stopped. The Park City Mines company that has taken over the property has been j for the past three months confining its , work to the development of the lower ; levels of the mine, and no attempt has i been made to mine any ore for ship- ment. The company has been driving, a long crosscut from the 700-foot level to cut the Easter yem, which it is ex-, pected will be cut to the next few days. 1 On the 900-foot level an excellent grade j of ore was opened on this vein and a raise was driven on it for a distance of 1S5 feet. The crosscut being driven is for the purpose of cutting this vein and connecting with the raise. Lessees operating on the property are shipping from the 700, 800 and 1000-foot levels. |
