Show ONE HUNDRED BOYS WILL GO ON A HIKE Playgrounds Youngsters to Pitch Tents in Big Cottonwood Canyon for Four Days' Stay. Upward of 100 boys from the various public playgrounds "of the city will leave here Tuesday morning for Big Cottonwood canyon on the annual hike of the Salt Lake City playgrounds. The hike will be under the personal direction di-rection of J. R. Griffith, supervisor of the Salt Lake City playgrounds, assisted as-sisted by six or eight supervisors from the respective city playgrounds. The party will be gone until Friday night. The hikers will leave here by street car for Holliday about 6:30 "o'clock Tuesday morning and six wagons will carry the t outage and camp supplies. From Holliday the boys will march to Reynolds 's flats, about ten miles up tho canyon, and pitch camp for four davs. Excursions or hikes will be taken ta-ken daily to various points of interest in and near the canyon, in elm ling the chain of lakes. The hikes will be made during the mornings and early afternoons after-noons and at night programmes will be carried out around the campfire. 9 |
