Show CONDUCTOR BROWN HAS A NARROW ESCAPE Oil on Ralls Is AH that Prevents Him From Meeting Death Under Oar. The presence of oil on the rails, drippings drip-pings from an oil-burning locomotive, probably saved tho life of Conductor A. 0. Brown of the Salt Lako route vosterdav when he fell to tho trank Vm- twoen two cars of a train switching in the yards. Falling across one rail, Mr. Brown was shoved along for sevoral feet by the truck, the wheels not securing sufficient suf-ficient hold upon him to draw him under un-der the car. As it was, his legs were badly bruised. He was removed from tho yard under the direction of Patrolman Patrol-man Charles Pitts and sent to the Holy Cross hospital. Conductor Brown lives at 23-i ITorth Sixth West street. His condition was reported favorable at an early hour this morning and it is not thought that his injuries will long keop him from his regular work. |
