Show VISCOUNT MI FISIISKT POIIT Distinguished Englishman Enthusiastic En-thusiastic in Praise of the Cadets' Appearance. WEST POINT, N. Y., A'upr. 30. "Viscount "Vis-count Haldane, lord hiph chancellor of Great Britain, who is en route to Montreal, Mont-real, visited 'the military academy today. to-day. Lord Haldane camo up tho Hudson Hud-son from New York on J. Pierpont Morgan 'b yacht Corsair. Tho Corsair dropped anchor off West Point at J o'clock and was immediately immediate-ly boarded by Colonel Clarouco P. Townsloy, superintendent of tho academy, acad-emy, accompanied by his staff and members of tho academic board. In the boarding party also were tho Hon. Charles Dohwrty, minister of .iusticeof tho Dominion of Canada, and Sir Lo-mer Lo-mer Gouiu, premier of the province of Quobec, who camo from Canada to meot tho lord high chancellor at West Point. After the usual courtesies had been exchanged on board the yacht, tho whole party came ashore and was escorted es-corted to tho "plains" by a troop of colorod regulars. A saluto of nineteen guns was firod and tho battalion of cadets was drawn up in roview formation forma-tion on tho grass plain. Lord Haldane was enthusiastic in his praise of the cadets' appearance and congratulated Colonel Pred W. Sladon, commandant of cadets, on their excellent showing. After a reception tho vnrious academy buildings were inspected. In tho party with Lord Haldane were his sister, Miss Elizabeth Saunders Haldane; Sir Kenneth Muir-Mackonzio, clork for tho crown: Hon. Charles Do-horty Do-horty and Mrs. Dohorty; Sir Lomer Gouin and Lady Gouin, Miss Alien, J, P. Martin, president of the bar of the province of Quobec, and Mrs, Martiu; j. T. Hackett, secretary to tho minister minis-ter of .justice, and Mrs. Hackett; Jacob M. Dickinson and Mrs. Dickinson; Alton Al-ton B. Parker, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Severance, Sev-erance, J. Pierpont Morgan and Nicholas Nich-olas Murray Butler and Mrs. Butler. Tho party left horo at 4 o'clock in a special train for Albanj' and Montreal. |
