Show APPEALS TO WILSON FROM CELL IN PRISON Girl Arrested for Masquerading as a Man Wants Permit to Wear Men's Clothing. NEW YORK, Aug. 30. From a cell ln the Raymond street Jail. Elizabeth Tren-dlo, Tren-dlo, a Brooklyn girl, appealed today, by Iettor, to President Wilson to issue her a permit to dress as a man. "If I can appear as a man and do a man's wprk I shall bo more respected and better paid," roads the letter to tho president. "It's no crime for a woman to wear male attire, yet I am locked up In Jail because T did. 1 want to get a permit from you or some ono else to wear the costume I have adopted." She was arrested masquerading as a man and had been working In male attire at-tire at a book bindery. |
