It is highly proba-blo proba-blo that motor boats will shortly supplant sup-plant the romantic and picturesque gondolas gon-dolas on tho canals of Venice. Stubborn resistance on the part of the Venetian boatmen to modern means of locomotion on tn Grand canal and smaller small-er waterwnys seems about to be over-como over-como by the formation of a co-operative association amonc the gondoliers. This body is providing a public service of motor launches betwoon the railway station and the Adriatic shore.
