Show By MARY LANDEN 292-5985 Chairman for the Val Verda 4th Ward Talent Night on March 30 was Janet Evans. The show included music, drama, speech, dance and art. This Saturday, April 7, marks the big Salt Lake Scout District's annual Cub Scour Circus at the Salt Palace all day. Each pack has a booth displaying or demonstrating one of their activities during-the during-the year. This Friday, April 6, will be the first Friday night dance at 732 South 800 East for the young Special Interest members in the area. Dancing Danc-ing begins at 9 p.m. Members will also have their second Sunday Fireside this Sunday, April 8, at the Capitol Ward at 413 West Capitol, at 8 p.m. Tonight, April 4, there will be a scout spaghetti dinner in the Val Verda 2nd Ward. The scouts are also having a fund raising drive by collecting scrap metals and aluminum pop cans. Tomorrow, April 5, will be another in the series of health lectures at the Lakeview Hospital Hos-pital Classroom beginning at 7:30 p.m. Topic will be "Poison Proofing Your Home" with Dr. Joseph Veltri of the Intermountain Poison Control Center speaking. Vital Vi-tal information for any family with children will be presented. present-ed. The annual traditional "Spring Thing" was held in the Val Verda 2nd Ward with dinner and entertainment on March 24. The Primary organization of the 8th Ward welcomes Judith Hills as a leader in the Campfire Girls program. She will be working with the 11-year-old Adventurer girls. Blazer boys Brian Dixon, Brent Day and Eric Hills were recognized with their scout Tenderfoot advancement ad-vancement at the Stake Court of Honor last week. All Primary age children in the area are encouraged to put on their thinking caps and get out their art supplies and go to work on making a "Reverence" poster. The posters will be displayed at the Stake Primary Spiritual Night next week, April 13, at 7 p.m. at the new 5th and 10th . Ward Chapel. Theme will be : "Dare to do Right." Special speaker will be General Autho: ity L. Tom Perry. We ill miss the Lance Goodman family and the Gibson Gib-son family who have moved from our area. The Val Verda 8th Ward is planning another "slave auction" auc-tion" after such a successful experience two years ago. Auctioning off of goods and services donated by families and individuals in the ward will be on April 17. New neighbor Harry Payne is a ham amateur radio operator in his spare time and likes to design and build radio equipment. He has both his ham and commercial FCC first class licenses. New neighbors welcomed to our area is the Vic Borchard family from South Africa with their three children. Dell and Susan Gregory and their child Autlie are new at 2996 South Orchard Drive. |
