Show (ten's Me By DOUG CLARK The final lap of the studentbody elections finally started today. The candidates participated in the election convention, a replica of the national political convention. THE CANDIDATES who went into the convention are, for president of the student--; body: Blake Green, Bruce Robinson, Tony Reynolds and ".' Laura Stumph. The politicians poli-ticians aspiring to the office of studentbody vice president are: Brad Albrechtsen, Curt Ives, Blain Rayl and Katina Skedros. :'- The office of studentbody -"' secretary will eventually be ' filled by one of the following ; students: Dixie Burgin, Steph Caputo, Karla Monson, Jonell :: Snow, or Michelle Warner. ;i THE FINAL campaigns will start tomorrow, and the ,': most promising of the prococious political powerhouses will be elected to i serve Viewmont High next f. year. ATTENTION music lovers; :; the Viking musicians will be ' performing at the Region I Band Festival at Bountiful High School tonight. The : other bands will find out tonight that the Vikes came to play. ; The State Solo and Ensem-i Ensem-i ble will be held on Saturday. ' The Viewmont participants are expected to rate highly in this state competition. THURSDAY will be the day for our tumblers to take on Roy and Clearfield in the sport of gymnastics. The Viewmont squad is looking forward to a win, and invites all those who are interested in the sport to come and observe. ob-serve. Friday will bring a dose of music for all Vikings as the Ricks College Orchestra headlines an assembly that begins at 9: 10 a.m. THE VIKING baseball team, already boasting a superb record, will go to bat against the Royals of Roy High School at 4 Friday. The team is looking for another victory to hang on the proverbial belt, and Roy isn't , expected to disappoint us. Weber will come to take us on on the diamond next Tuesday at 4. Good Luck Vikes. Soccer is alive and kicking at VHS. Viewmont hosts Judge Memorial at 4:15 on Friday. This year the team is being coached in part by Dave Wigham, sports reporter for the "Davis County Clipper" and permanent resident of the British Isles, from whence the game originated. THE MALE runners will challenge Weber at Weber at 3 today, and the girls will go to Clearfield Friday to put their skills up against the Falcons. Our Madrigals just got home from a vacation in sunny California, where they managed to carve a name for Viewmont in the minds of the Californians. WITH THE elections and important events coming, this should prove to be one of the most important in the entire school year. . One more important note: "Happy Easter." |
