Show I I f , c : r J i IT'S LIBRARY WEEK FARMINGTON - "Without my' library, life would not be worth living." THAT MAY be strong language, lan-guage, but to Bountiful resident Dee Birdsong of 1210 East 300 South, it's the way she feels as an avid reader and patron of the Davis County Library South Branch. A homemaker, Mrs. Bird-song Bird-song says the only way she can get through the "boring, difficult, repetitive tasks one must do in daily living" is by reading a book at the end. A Bountiful homemaker, Dee Birdsong slaves through the drudgery of housework so she can sit down and read a book. She reads about 300 of them a year, making heavy use of the Davis County Library South Branch in Bountiful. "I'd say I read about 300 books a vear." THE KANSAS City, Kan., native says she's lived in many cities and about the first thing she does after unpacking un-packing is hunt out the local library. And she has high praise for the South Branch library. "I think it's just improving almost by the minute with the MacNaugton books and art books, it's getting get-ting quality and quantity. When I first came (about 11 years ago) it seems there were almost more empty shelves than not but that's I changed." i. "The librarians are so nice," she said. 'They really ; care about satisfying the people and helping them. MRS. BIRDSONG was among a score of library patrons pa-trons from throughout the : county who took the time to write their feelings about the library. Another Bountiful resident responding was ; Valon E. Stock, an employee in the F-16 engineering support sup-port group at Hill Air Force Base. He especially enjoys the ; periodicals. "The library gives me access to many periodicals of interest," he wrote. "I can selectively read from several magazines that I would not come in contact with otherwise, because of expense and practicality." "I COME at least once a week to read the periodicals." he said.
