Show Rites Held For Edgar S. Smoot Edgar Stubbs Smoot, 73, died March 27, 1979 of a heart attack at the Lakeview Hospital. Hos-pital. He was born April 17, 1905, in Provo to Horace Alma and Edna Stubbs Smoot. He married Dora Millard in the Salt Lake Temple (Sept. 7, 1927). He was a stalwart supporter sup-porter of the LDS Church and a high priest in the Center-ville Center-ville 2nd Ward. He owned and managed Smoot's Jersey . Farms. A NATIONAL leader in the American Jersey Cattle Club he was internationally recog-. nized for his ability to breed, select, and develop world record Jersey cattle. He served on the LDS Church General Welfare Advisory Ad-visory Committee. Produced and distributed Jersey milk in the Salt Lake Valley for over four decades. In recent years was honored as Dairyman of the Year by Utah State University. SURVIVORS ARE: Wife, sons, Stanley M. Smoot of Centerville and Calvin E. Smoot LDS mission president in Louisville, Kentucky; . daughters, Mrs. Richard (Caroldyn) Francis, Fruit Heights; Mrs. James (Doriene) Knight, Gooding, Idaho; 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL SERVICES were held Saturday, March 31, 1979 at the Centerville Stake Center. Interment was in the Farmington City Cemetery under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. |
