Show West Btfl. By ALICE MITCHELL 29S-11S6 This has been another interesting week as April came in like the proverbial lion. The April Fools' Joke on everyone was the heavy snow , fall of the night hours of the last day of March. The weatherman had predicted the event, but it didn't seem possible when one viewed the hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips blooming in the March sunshine. . Bea Marsden and family were happy to entertain Bea's brother and wife, Roy and Frances Ditty of Barstow, Calif., over the conference weekend. The Marsdens also visited with cousins, Ray and June Kempt of Remford, Essex, Es-sex, England. The freakish weather did not bother those who came to visit. The Marsdens were unhappy to bid goodbye to their daughter Lesley, who with her husband Michael Leger, moved to Duchesne. They naturally took the Marsdens beloved grandchild with them. Michael will work with his father in the basin area. Lenah Casper is smiling as she reports the birth of a great-grandchild born last Sunday morning. Parents are Susan and Mike Demas and grandparents are Bob and Ida Devereaux. Great-grandmother Lenah enjoyed a visit from her granddaughter, Trudy and three children. Trudy is the daughter of Lenah's daughter, who lives in Boise. The Gerald Chapmans are planning a super birthday party for family members next Saturday. Guests of honor will be daughter-in-law Jody Chapman and son Mike Chapman. The Allan Taylors had a happy time as they visited with family members at the home of Allan's sister, Louise Bodily, a former West Boun-tifulite. Boun-tifulite. They all got together to welcome Allan's mother, Mrs. Erma Taylor of Gold Hill, Ore. Mrs. Taylor felt extremely ex-tremely fortunate to have driven straight through on Saturday. She avoided some of the worst aspects of the snow storm. Susan Thompson was the hostess for a bridal shower given last Tuesday which honored LuAnn Mcllrath, daughter of former West Bountifulite Darrell Mcllrath. Marj Elsby had a great April Fool Surprise on Sunday. Sun-day. She was honored at a birthday party for her birthday birth-day later in the week. She had no birthday cake, because her ( favorite is strawberry shortcake. The Bob Freestones are excited ex-cited as they entertain their daughter, Tammie Edwards. She and her baby son Christopher Chris-topher flew in from St. Peters, Minnesota last week. They said that the weather in their part of Minnesota was not very cold. It was only ten degrees below zero. Ruby Olsen, long-time resident of West Bountiful, was honored at an open house commemorating her 87th birthday. The Halvor Olsens, Dorothy Servos, and other members of the family assisted as-sisted in the arrangements. Peggy Freestone, wife of Ron has been glad to have as her guests her mother Terry Lester of Evanston, Wyo. and her sister and husband Sid and Karen Thorndock of Mt. View. |
