AN ELECTRICAL short in a neon sign was blamed for starting the fire outside of The Britchery, a clothing store near the center of the mall. According to Steve Call and Brek Anderson, co-owners of the store, the fire broke out near the store's ceiling sometime some-time before 7 a.m. Monday. Heat from the blaze set off the store's sprinkling system and a loud intrusion alarm. THE SPRINKLING system quickly doused the blaze, but did not automatically shut off and thousands of gallons of water flooded the mall corridor and seeped into three nearby stores - Erna's, which later closed for the day; Music City and Frontline. 'There was a little damage, to merchandise and limited smoke damage, but we were very fortunate that it was not a major disaster," said Mr. Call.
