Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL The first days of spring brought snow and periods of sunshine. When there was windy weather, the children and their parents had fun flying kites. In fact, the area west of 1 1th West might have been called cal-led "Kite Alley. Another sign of the spring advant was the growth of the tiny violets in the lawns. Their dark lavender hues make a beautiful sight in the lush green lawns, which were growing in-spite in-spite of the layers of snow which covered them from time to time. The other flowers which grow from bulbs were also trying to show their greenery green-ery and bulbs. The farmers in West Bountiful Bounti-ful went ahead with their, hoeing and cleaning, inspite of the snows. Each farmer has a special time when he feels that his crops should be planted. The good peas must be put in early and the radishes even earlier. Other farmers, on the other hand, say that gardening success comes from planting during the first week of May. One of the definite signs of spring growing plants is the arrival of the delicious green watercress around the wells. The gourmet of restaurant eating eat-ing often pays good prices for watercress sandwiches or watercress wa-tercress salads. West Bounti-fulites Bounti-fulites during the years have been blessed with huge beds of the delicious greenery. |
