Show 12 Attend Loder DUP March Meet The March meeting of the lien Buckland Loder DUP Camp was held at Servus Drug party room at I p.m., March IK. St. Patrick's Day decorations decora-tions were prepared by the hostesses Tern Evans and Irma Humphrey. There was a llag salute and Wilds Elughes gave the prayer and blessing on the food. There were 12 members present. CAPT. NEVA Newcomb, conducted the business meeting. Dorothy Blanpicd read a history "A Special Stove" which was purchased purch-ased by her grandparents, Arthur and Lizzy Barnes, at the ZCMI. There were many fond memories of the stove as it graced their pioneer home. The stove is now in the residence resi-dence of Duanc Jensen of Bountiful. DARLENE LaFevre, lesson leader, explained the lesson this month and April will be on "historical Western Trails," from the 1983 manual. The trails were originally bufTalo trails, then Indians used them, later trappers followed them, then still later th Pioneers found their way west on them. The Lewis and Clark expedition ex-pedition was authorized by President JefTerson. It was a long, costly experience, they were searching for a water way to the Pacific Ocean. The benefits be-nefits of the expitition far exceeded ex-ceeded the expectations. DARLENE also told of the Santa Fe and Cimmaron Trails. |
