Show Babies Learn Fast During infancy, your baby will learn at a faster rate than he will ever learn again in his entire life. In the first four weeks of life he will achieve regular breathing, lifting his head, returning a smile, and maybe even uttering a coo or a little laugh. THE EARLY months of his life provide many opportunities opportuni-ties for your baby to look, listen, lis-ten, touch, smell, vocalize, and taste as he inches about in his environment. The more he sees, the more he will want to see. His educa-tion educa-tion actually begins not in the classroom but in the crib. Let him be stimulated by a kaleidoscope of bright cheerful colors in his room in addition to nursery whites. A baby, no matter how small, can see the soft glow of a lamp and the rustling movement of people in his room. Since so much of his time will be spent in his crib, challenge his little eyes with colorful mobiles. WHILE YOU do your work around the house, take the baby with you. Being near his parents is essential, and the change of scenery from room to room and from indoors to outdoors will provide many varied visual experiences for him. Every place for an infant is a place of learning. By encouraging en-couraging his mental and physical phy-sical development, he can have a headstart in learning, and you can provide a blueprint bluep-rint for a brighter child. |
