THE UTAH Power and Light Contest was held during the week of March 7 at both the Ogden and Layton Hills Mall. Five school districts were competing in this contest. There were hundreds of participants par-ticipants entered in the contest, con-test, but despite this, Mueller Park still did a great job. ALL THOSE participants who attended the contest from Mueller Park include Julie Cole, Lisa Corbridge, George Dover, Gerald Mills, Jennie Alternate energy winners in contest sponsored by Utah Power and Light Company are Mueller Park Junior High students left to right, Bryan Robinson, Lisa Corbridge, Julia Cole, Kristina Pilgrim and George Dover. Back row, Jennie Mollerup and Alan Smith. Absent were James Smith and Gerald Mills. Mollerup, Kristina Pilgrim, Bryan Robinson, Alan Smith', and James Smith. All these participants received re-ceived an Alternate Energy T-shirt T-shirt and a certificate of commendation com-mendation for their effort. GEORGE Dover and Alan Smith both received honorable mentions and were given an honorable mention ribbon and certificate. Gerald Mills took third place in the contest, receiving $50 for himself, $50 for the school to purchase energy education material and a trophy. THIS IS the second year the Alternate Energy Contest was held, and both years Mueller Park received a third place. Dwight Brown, the science instructor at Mueller Park, commented, "I am very happy and pleased and I think we did a very fine job." THERE WAS a great deal of time and effort put into these projects and it definitely shows. |
