Show Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fisher entertained at a German dinner last Thursday evening, honoring their son Fritz who has been on a ten-day leave from the Navy. The other family members who enjoyed the dinner were Colleen, Mike, Charles, Evan and Dale Ann and the Reverend Davis Edward Goddard of St. Olaf's Catholic Church and Mrs. Frank B. Muir. Fritz left for the Navy Base early Friday morning. Another son Edward, who is in the U.S. Marines had returned re-turned to his base after a weekend with the Fisher family. David E. Haskell of Rupert, Ida. and Mrs. Carol Cote of Bountiful were married Oct. 5 in the Provo LDS Temple. A wedding luncheon was enjoyed en-joyed at Holiday Inn, 6th I ' south and 2nd West, Salt Lake City, by 16 guests. They will live at 195 North 2nd East, Bountiful. Mr. Haskell was a farmer in Rupert all of his life. He came to Salt Lake City after selling his farm and until his marriage was living with a grandson in Hunter. The couple met at the Redwood Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Betty Watson entertained enter-tained at lunch and bridge Monday afternoon. The three guests who attended were delighted with Betty's new home. Mrs. Dora Trowbridge, Mrs. Donna Neilson, Mrs. Lucy Cheney, Mrs. Mildred Armstrong, and Mrs. Ethilynn Hatch attended the past presidents party of Eight and Forty held last Wednesday Wednes-day evening at the Temple Square Hotel, Salt Lake City. Lillian V. Bowlby, staff member of the Golden Spike Division of the American National Na-tional Red Cross has left the local chapter and will assume Red Cross duties in Washington Washing-ton D. C. She will be working in public relations in the Washington office. She has been a staff member in the local chapter for three and a-half a-half years. She has expressed her regret in leaving the Golden Gol-den Spike Division. Fireside schedule dates are Oct. 19, Bountiful Utah North Stake. The speaker will be Mel Atkinson. He is a guide of the Clawson Tours of Church History, a temple worker and printer. He is also a history teacher. On Oct. 26 the host will be Bountiful Utah South Stake Lyle and Nadine Hintze will discuss their church sponsored trip with a group of seminary and institute teachers to the Holy Lands, recently. Mr. Hintze is the principal of the Viewmont seminary. All firesides are held on Sunday Sun-day evenings at 8 p.m. at the Regional Center. Hot lines to call are Valley Central 278-6609 and Valley South 298-4324. Mrs. Warner Poppleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hy Peterson, spent a few days last week with her parents. She was in Utah to attend LDS Conference. She has served four years as Relief Society president in her ward in Phoenix, Ariz. She has now been made stake Relief Society president. |
