Show Kaysville Council To Consider 48 Unit Housing A proposal for 48 units of subsidized housing came to. the Correlation of Governments Govern-ments but was referred back to the Kaysville City Council for consideration: THE ULTIMATE goal of he project is for 120 housing units. "We don't have 120 low income families in Kaysville. They are being imported from Ogden and Salt Lake City," said Mayor Glen Cundall. "We accepted the senior citizens cit-izens housing and the 235 housing-no problem, but I think there should be an impact im-pact study on this type of housing, federally subsidized in this type of an area," he said. "What would happen if federal subsidies stopped?" DEVELOPER Roger Raw-son, Raw-son, who has received praise from the Federal Housing Administration for the project, said he wasn't aware of a problem as the Kaysville Planning Commission had approved the development. "They are only a working body for the council, who is responsible for the final decision. It passes zoning requirements and would not have to come before this body (COG) if it weren't federally funded," said Mayor Cundall. "I am not objecting to the people but I am concerned about what will happen in years to come. THERE IS a waiting list of people wanting to rent the units. The rent is paid according ac-cording to an income schedule with a pro rated amount being subsidized. Five persons living there pay the full market rent, said Mr. Rawson. la |
