They were there to attend at-tend the funeral of a relative of the family. The Couples Bridge Club gave a house warming Sunday Sun-day evening for Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Watson who have moved into a new home recently. There were ten guests present. They all brought household articles for the new home and served refreshments to the group. ... Mrs. Catherine Bednark en- tertained her bridge club Saturday Sat-urday evening. The four members went out for dinner ; and returned home for dessert des-sert and bridge. Mrs. Wilda Bluemell was ! hostess to eight members of the Mary Flint Call Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers last Friday. Captain Alice Patterson conducted the , meeting and greeted the . group. Luncheon was served by the hostesses. Mrs. Carol Cote Haskell, a member, who was married recently was given a congratulation congra-tulation card and a copy of the book "Our Pioneer Heritage" as a wedding gift. Mrs. Haskeil gave the lesson les-son for the day, a unique story of President Brigham Young. Kati Daly of Kaysville, foster granddaughter of Mrs. Blumell was a special guest. She assisted in serving lunch. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Alton L. Day honored them at an open house for their 50th wedding anniversary. The affair af-fair was held at the parents home, 297 East 9th North from seven to 10 p.m. on Oct. 15. Family members are Mrs. Fred Crawley, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Day and Mr. and Mrs. James Day. There are 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A son Charles Phil Day is deceased. Mrs. Day is the daughter of the late Charles and Hannah Atkinson and Mr. Day is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Day. Many relatives and friends called and refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Peterson, Peter-son, Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Peterson Pe-terson and Mr. and Mrs. Gay Peterson attended a well drilling contractors convention conven-tion last week in New Orleans, La. They were gone five days and enjoyed the beautiful autumn scenery. The Petersons operate the well drilling business organized or-ganized by their father, Hy Peterson. |
