Show Davis U Shows Free Ylovies The free public film series sponsored by the Davis-University Davis-University of Utah Program for Higher Education will continue Wednesday, Oct. 22 at7:30p.m. THE SUBJECT of the current series is The History of Motion Pictures. Two films will be shown Wednesday -Road to Yesterday and Sad 1 Clowns. Road to Yesterday is a Cecil B. DeMille film of the 1920's. done in the grand elaborate style for which he was famous. This is a strange tale of tangled fortunes and twisted lives, spanning two ages.--the , pleasure-mad 1920's arid the fear-ridden days of feudal oppression in the Middle Ages. THREE HIGHLIGHTS of the film are a spectacular train-wreck, an exciting duel in a castle dungeon and huge mob scenes. William Boyd plays a priest in the modern story and a dashing caval ier in the historical episodes. ; Joseph Schildkraut, Vera Reynolds and Jetta Goudal co-star. Sad Clown features Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harry Langdon, Hollywood's comedy greats, all had widely differing styles and tech- niques, but a common ability j: to mix laughter with tears. j I LOUD!
