Show Services Held For Rufus Roland Pond i I, . . 1 1 V V r ' RUFUS ROLAND POND Rufus Roland Pond, age 86, of 876 West 3800 South died Oct. 9, 1975 at his home of causes incident to age. RUFUS was born December 23, 1888 at Oakley, Ida. to Brigham and Catherine Whittle Pond. He married Cora Stocks, Aug. 20, 1910 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Feb. 2, 1959. He married Ena Peterson Aug. 21, 1961 at Idaho Falls, Idaho. She died November 15, 1971. Mr. Pond was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a bishop, on the high council and served a mission for the church. He was a dryland and dairy farmer in Grace, Idaho and in Fairfield, Ida. SURVIVORS include sons and daughters: Roland S. Pond, Murray; Maxwell K. Pond, Bountiful; Mrs. Foster J. (Roma) Funk, Blythe, ' Calif.; Mrs. Clare (Cleo) Breinholt, North Salt Lake; and Mrs. LeRoy (Biennis) Packham, Fairfield, Ida. Surviving are thirty grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren. Also brothers and sisters: Z.W. Pond, Logan; George S. Pond, Lewiston; Howard M. Pond, Walnut Creek, Calif.; Edith Peterson, Logan; Abbie Forsyth, Salt Lake City and Mildred Bowden, Ogden. FUNERAL services were held Monday, Oct. 13, 1975 at the Orchard 2nd Ward chapel at 10 a.m. Interment was in the Lewiston Utah Cemetery. A viewing was held at the Bountiful Union Mortuary Sunday evening. Members of the Orchard 2nd Ward Relief Society arranged and took care of the flowers at the ward. Funeral director was the Russon Brothers Bountiful Union Mortuary. SERVICES were conducted by Bishop Garn L. Ingram. Family prayer was by Edward Ed-ward L. Packham; prelude and postlude music was by Leonnie Funk Blackburn, granddaughter. Opening prayer was Sheryl Pond Funk (grandson.)Lucille Funk, granddaughter-in-law, presented pre-sented a musical selection; selec-tion; obituary was read by Roland S. Pond, son; organ solo, Leonnie Funk Blackburn; Black-burn; speakers, Howard M. Pond, brother; Foster J. ' Funk, son-in-law and Garth Monson, stepson by second marriage; musical selection by M.K. Pond, son, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and a musical selection by his grandsons "There Is An Hour of Peace and Rest." GILBERT K. Pond, grandson, grand-son, gave the benediction; dedication of the grave was by O. Clare Breinholt, son-in-law. Pallbearers were his grandsons: Dean Funk, Dewayne Pond, Michall Packham, Scott Packham, Keith Funk and ' Neil Breinholt. HONORARY pallbearers, also grandsons were: Sheryl P. Funk, Glenn Pond, Lamar Pond, Lewis Pond, Alden Breinholt, Ronald Breinholt, Max Pond, Clark Packham, Garth Packham, Joel Packham, Gilbert Pond, Ralph Pond and Carl Pond. |
