Show Moonlighters: Four Years Old The Moonlighters Square Dance Club celebrated their fourth anniversary on Friday evening at the Bountiful Community Church recreation recrea-tion hall, with a special program arranged by Shirley Dickinson and Shirley Dickerson. THE DANCE club was organized or-ganized in October, 1971 by Bob and Darlyn Brown, Ray and Janet Williamson and Clarence and Erma Eskridge. Since the club was organized, or-ganized, there have been 60 couples and 63 singles graduated into the world of square dancing, all starting as beginners and all ages, from the teens and up. SPECIAL GUESTS on Friday evening were the "Pi-R-Squares" from Weber State College and during the evening, even-ing, models displayed the special dance dresses worn each year by the lady dancers. Certificates of appreciation were presented by Eli and Dixie Mitchell to past presidents who have been, caller Clarence and Erma Eskridge; Bob and Darlyne Browne; Jim and Cheryl Gamble; Melba Victor; Jon and Shirley Dickerson and to Mrs. Victor for the lat Owen Victor. ; TABLE decorations for the i event were made by May Brewerton and a special fea-1 fea-1 ture was the anniversary cake i with punch served by Audrey Clark and Shirley Dickinson. There are six squares of 1 beginners dancing now. i There will not be a dance on Oct. 17 because of the deer 1 hunt. There will be the i regular dance on Oct. 24 with beginners at 7 p.m. and the regular dancers at 8:30 p.m. THE LADIES of the club have selected red, white and blue for their new dresses carrying out the Bicentennial theme. The Moonlighters Club is an open club and visitors are welcome at any time, usually meeting each Friday evening at the Bountiful Community Church, 100 North 400 East in the recreation hall. BEGINNERS dance at 7 p.m. and the regular members at 8:30 p.m. Teenagers dance on Monday evenings. Dixie Mitchell and Rita Perry put on a skit and fashion show for the beginners at the recent dance. ALMA CLARK, a regular dancer had surgery recently and was welcomed back on Friday to just sit and watch until he is able to join in the dancing, kj |
