Is to be called Into action after lying dormant in tbe atatute books more then a third of a century. It Is tb old "warning out" law, made to fight th grasshoppers arter the disastrous dis-astrous rsida of the locusts In the early seventies. There never has be-n a time when It was needed bn-tofore, but Gov. Oeorge II. Hodges has bwn petitioned to Invoke Its use In central Kansas to Ogbt tbe chinch bugs. v.hlrh tbrestened to do great damage to rowlng crops this year.
