Show NEWS NOTES FROM SUMMIT I Mra. Do ana Davenport The Relief Society Annual Party Par-ty was held here Saturday evening eve-ning and this year honored the 50th Anniversary of Relief Society Soci-ety magazine. A delicious chicken chick-en dinner was prepared and served serv-ed under the direction of Violet W. Hulet, assisted by La Rue White, Helen Matheson, Alice Walker and Minnie Dalley. All the food served was prepared from recipes taken from the Relief Re-lief Society magazines. The tables ta-bles were beautifully decorated by Ruth Dalley, Oscar J. Hulet acted as toastmaster. An Interesting program followed, follow-ed, arranged by President Mary G. Dalley, who used stories, poems po-ems and intersting articles from the magazine. Mrs. Violet Hulet was presented with a beautiful Relief Society Pin for her many years of devoted service to the organization. An hour of dancing to the music of Marc All ton and Dee El Stapley brought this memorable evening to a close. Nearly every lady of the ward and her husband hus-band attended. Two Relief Society So-ciety Stake Board members and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bentlcy and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stubbs of Parowan were special guests. The Birthday club was held Monday evening of last weekl ti home of Mrs. Emm F'fe.' The honored ladles were Belly iia.tlpuei'ys, biuney Vvnite Norma Stapley who were presented pre-sented with birthday remem-l brances. Hostesses were Anna Dalley, Daisy Prince and Karen I Rider, who served a delicious dessert. Ivan Wlttwer of Washington, Utah, moved his mother. Mrs. Hulda Peterson nome uom St George early last week after she had spent the winter months there working in the Temple. Mrs. Georgia Matheson came from Parowan to help her mother mo-ther get settled and stayed several sever-al days. I Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Pothier and son Robert of Sun Valley, Ida., . visited here last week with Mrs. Pothler's mother, Mrs. Lettie Fife I and brothers Rudger and Ted Fife and families. Elder Robert Pothier had just completed a two year L. D. S. Mission in the Central States. Mrs. Ted Fife entertained en-tertained the Pothier's, Mrs. Fife and the Rudger Fife family at dinner Monday evening of last week. The Hyrum Humpherys enjoy-1 ed a visit from a brother, Dean Humpherys, his wife and their three children of Star Valley, Wyo. They arrived here Thursday Thurs-day of last week for a two day's stay then traveled on to Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nev., to visit a daughter, returning here Sunday and left for home Monday. The Relief Society work meeting meet-ing luncheon was served by Violet Vio-let Hulet, Jeaninne Dalton, Emma Em-ma Fife and Anna Dalley. Mrs. Minnie Dalley and daughter, daugh-ter, Mary Beth, visited in Parowan Paro-wan Sunday afternoon with the Golden Boyles family before the-Boyles the-Boyles son, Phil, left for his-six his-six month military training with the National Guard. Mrs. Minnie Dalley traveled to St. George Monday to spend the day with her parents, Mr. and I Mrs. Charles Hulet |
