Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Virginia Webster Belated birthday wishes were bestowed upon Winona Cowan Thuniday, March 21st, during an afternoon party held at the home of Ruth Cahoon. The honored guest was recipient of a lovely gift presented to her by the hostess host-ess and a.i appropriate card signed by the birthday club . members. Eleven ladies were in attendance at the event Including Includ-ing Elaine Jones who was a new member of the group. Joining the club ladles for the occasion were three guests Invited by Mrs. i Cahoon, Betty Randall, Faye Miller Mil-ler and Betty Whitney. Traveling to Price and Helper, Utah, last week were Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Clark and Mrs. Bob Clark. They accompanied their sister-in-law, Mary Hill, home after she had spent two weeks In this area visiting friends and relatives. Las Vegas entertainment was in store for Mr. and Mrs. McRay Cloward and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Larson of Elslnor who traveled ta Nevada for the week end. Ladies bridge club session was held at the home of Afton Stap-ley Stap-ley Wednesday, March 13th. The seven guests invited were Irene Goodwin, Reva Orton, Winnie Nelson, jean Lamoreaux, Kath-erine Kath-erine Wood, Francis Holyoak and Shirley Beatty. Winning high score honors during the evening were Irene Goodwin and Reva Orton. The 1150 neighborhood club who meet every two weeks for the purpose of relaxing and enjoying en-joying sewing activities have participated In two social events this month. Hostess for the first occasion was Marjorie Bess. Monday, Mon-day, March 25, the group met at the residence of James and Mar-ba Mar-ba Sandberg. Mr. and Mrs. Brose Bulloch motored to Nevada recently where they met a California couple, cou-ple, former Parowan residents, Mr. and Mrs. Porter Clark. A recent guest at the Ross Berry Ber-ry home in Cedar City was Mrs. I Hal (Catherine) Stout of Ely. Nev. Mrs. Stout visited here with Jerry Berry and with her sister, Mrs. Geraldine Thompson. While In Southern Utah, she also traveled tra-veled to Toquervllle where she enjoyed seeing her mother, Mrs. Arch Brlnghurst. Frjoylng a visit in Cedar City with Jlr. and Mrs. Vernon Slack are their daughter Mavis (Mrs. Robert Seegmiller) and children Brenda Sue and Natalie. Mrs. Seegmiller and Marie Beck of Seattle, Wash., are planning to vacation here while Robert, who Is employed by Boeing Air Craft Is taking special training in Mexico. Mex-ico. Miss Beck is also an employee em-ployee at the Boeing plant in Seattle. During their stay, Mavis Ma-vis and children will also be visiting with Robert's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adams Seegmiller. |
