Show Music Students Place High at Region Ten Festival The music department of the Parowan High School was represented repre-sented at the annual Region Ten Solo and Ensemble festival held at Enterprise High School last Wednesday by a large group of students reports music instructor, Mrs. Ramona M. Stubbs. And they brought back a large number num-ber of No. 1 and No. ratings from the meet No. 1 rating is superior super-ior and No. 2 Is excellent we are given to understand. Individuals and groups from the local school garnered seven No. 1 ratings and 11 No. 2 ratings ra-tings Mrs. Mitchell reports. The winners of No. 1 ratings were as follows: Richard Van Ausdal, saxophone solo; Glade Holyoak, tenor saxophone saxo-phone solo; vocal quartet, Kent Dalton, Annette Stubbs, Vicki Worthen and Tom Benson; triple tri-ple trio, Marie Rasmussen, Lana Topham, Emily Dalton, Gay Rowley, Row-ley, Linda Gae Hulet, Davie Hyatt, Hy-att, Penney Matheson and Janet Gurr; Also, Kent Dalton, baritone solo; so-lo; a double male quartet composed com-posed of Mahlon Dalley, Hal Wheatley, Gary Jensen, Kenneth Watson, Jimmie Green, Clinton Bentley, David Hyatt and Gregory Greg-ory Topham; a ladies vocal trio, Penny Robb, LaRae Lamoreaux and Vickl Worthen. No. 2 ratings were earned by the following: a clarinet quartet quar-tet composed of Jeanne Pendleton, Pendle-ton, Annette Stubbs, Kathy Or-ton Or-ton and Davie Hyatt; a clarinet solo by Wayne Eyre; a trombone solo by Blaine Hyatt; a French horn solo by Evelyn KirkpaU;ick; a tenor solo by Gary Jensenfa girls' double trio, Kathy Rowley, Diana Orton, Brenda Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, Kathleen Mitchell, Sherry Worthen, Annette Stubbs; a piano pia-no solo by Mickie Applegate. Also, a piano duet by Sheryl-lynn Sheryl-lynn Stubbs and Ruth Ann Knight; a bass solo by Robert Dalley; a mixed quartet, Norman Robinson, Carol Ann Orton, Lynn K. Topham and Davie Hyatt, and a ma!c quintet by Robin Graff, Tommy Benson, Kent Dalton, Blaine HU and Robert Dalley. |
