Show Adams and Dalley Get Eagles; Additional Advancements Made at March Honor Court In Impressive ceremonies that came as a climax to the Boy Scout Court of Honor for March, held In the First-Second chapel Sunday evening, two members of Troop No. 349 of the Second Ward, were the recipients of the Eagle Award, highest in Scouting. Scout-ing. . ' Receiving the Eagles were Michael Mi-chael Adarns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Adams and Mahlon Dalley, Dal-ley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Dalley. The mothers of the two boys were accorded the privilege of pinning the badge of Eagle rank on their sons. ' Conducting this portion of the evening's program was Gordon Flrnsworth, former chairman of Brian Head District and now bishop of the Second Ward. Assisting As-sisting in the Eagle presentations were George Banks, Warren Pendleton, Pen-dleton, Elwin Rowley, James Bates and Howard D. Knight President of Parowan Stake. In addition to the above presentations, pre-sentations, several other awards, advancement and merit badges were made t Boy ccouts of the various troops in the district. Arnong them were a double Bronze Palm to Gary Grimshaw, of Troop No. 33G from the Enoch Ward. Life Scout badges went to Robert Oiton and Gary Cart-wrlgfit; Cart-wrlgfit; a Siar badge went to Robert A. Rowley and Jerry D. Robinson received his second class badge, all of which are members of Troop 343, Parowan Third Ward. Merit badges went to the following fol-lowing boys: Troop 341 First Ward, Craig Stubbs, Glen Robinson, Robin-son, Michael Hulet, Chauncey Adams and Royden Orton. Troop 3-19, Second Ward, Wayne Stubbs, Leslie Hulet, Wayne Rowley and Nolan Truman. Troop 336, Enoch Ward, Ted H. Wilcken; Peter A. Grimshaw, Jay H. Grimshaw, C Brent Jones, William H. Sherratt, Keith L. Maxwell! Troop 343, Third Ward, Robert Orton, Robert A. Rowley, Gary Cartwright, Kenneth Watson, Jo-dy Jo-dy Simkins, Rickie Adams, Lloyd Stubbs, Samuel W. Halterman, Gary D. Orton, Carlyle Gurr, Gail Benson. Scott E. Day, Rodney Lister, Paul Chamberlain, Randy Bentley, Garth Decker, Kenny Orton, Larry Topham and Albert M. Orton. ' Troop 343 also was high score winners for this month in activity acti-vity and awards received. The Explorer Tost from Enoch Ward was the high point winner for the Explftrer division. James ' Bates of the district committee presided at the Court of Honor In the absence of'SM Clark, district chairman arid'W. Clair Rowley, district advancement advance-ment chairman and Troop 349 conducted the opening and closing clos-ing exercises under the direction 6f Dyle Adams; scoutmaster. It was also announced that the next Court of Honor will be held Sunday. April 28, at the Parowan Paro-wan Third Ward chapel at 7 p. m. . ' 1 |
