Show One Dies, Four Hospitalized! Ira Fwo Accidents Tuesday CSU Director Injured When Car Overturns I Dr. Royden C. Braithwalte, Director of College of Southern Utah, was hospitalized and reported re-ported in fair condition Wednesday Wednes-day following a single car rollover roll-over which occured at approximately approxi-mately 12 midnight Tuesday. Injuries included a fractured rib, lacerations of the head and possible injury to his right leg. Dr. Braithwaite, in company with Dr. Richard Thompson of the CSU faculty, had come to an accident on U. S. Highway 91 near Summit while returning from meetings in Logan and Salt Lake City. Finding the highway blocked, they returned to Sum mit and took a county road toward to-ward Parowan Gap in an attempt at-tempt to by-pass the accident and continue to Cedar City. At the junction of two roads the car failed to negotiate the turn, apparently, and rolled over. Dr. Thompson, driver, was apparently ap-parently uninjured and he walked walk-ed approximately five miles back to Summit where he summoned help. Dr. Braithwaite was brought to the Valley View Medical Center ir. Cedar City for treatment. He remained In the hospital Wednesday. |
